i love tea towels. the white flour sack material so many of them are made of reminds me of the old days, when times were simpler and all dishes were done by hand. there's something vintage about them, but with just a scrap of modern fabric (a favorite technique of Etsy sellers), they capture the "old days" and the "nowadays."
living in an "old" apartment without a dishwasher, i chose a tea towel for myself from the orange bicycle when i was buying a wedding gift for a friend this summer. despite the simple, quiet appearance of this little shop, its wares are sweet and the packaging is darling. i still use the patterned Ziploc bag the tea towels came in to carry my toiletries when i travel!

if you want the visual spaces of your brain cleared momentarily, visit Tikoli and look at the simple, beautiful lines on their towels. it's hard to choose a favorite!
random piece of information: my other favorite Etsy package was from 12fifteen. not only did she include a couple extra cards just because, but the polka-dotted packing tape made it an extra fun thing to get (as if packages aren't fun enough)!
i loved the polka-dotted packing tape (PDPT) so much that i added it to my refrigerator collage! and yes, i artfully arrange things on my refrigerator door --- it's the first thing i see when i emerge from my bedroom in the morning. as if waking up wasn't bad enough, waking up to a solid door of clutter and coupons is the LAST thing i need!

ps: i thought your third point was "you don't have to be shiny" to which i thought you were referring to your ample lip gloss until i realized that there were two Ns and it was probably a K and not an H. oh well. it was a fun thought.
