i think fresh is the word / concept i'm looking for; her spaces seem so fresh and clean (thank you, Outkast). it's something about the open, sparse arrangement of some elements in contrast to deliberately placed clutter & bursts of random objects / patterns that catches my eye. the bottom line is, Benita's style is visually fascinating.
a corner of the Larsson's living room (the "spring" edition - she must change her colors / style each season). her husband painted the birds above the sofa. and the pillows? Benita says, "I did make the pillows. The fabric is actually Martha Stewart (Kmart) tea towels which I cut apart and then stitched back together again to get the middle bit square as opposed to the rectangle it was. I've always loved bandana patterns."
the Larssons have a vast collection of bottle caps, some displayed here. have i mentioned how much i LOVE to see colors arranged according to the rainbow?
the spring edition of Benita's home office.
so . . . you like?
note: all photographs are of the Larsson home & taken by Benita Larsson.

color coded bottle caps, damn, why didn't i think of that?
i always like it when people use glass jars and fill them with same color objects
now if i could just find a way to implement those lovely ideas.
